Remember when I got all sentimental over the death of Jonathan Frid because Dark Shadows is ten times the supernatural melodrama that Twilight could ever hope to be and because Barnabas Collins was a reluctant vampire before it was cool? A lot of you nostalia’d hard all over your keyboards wrote in to tell me that you too had fond memories of everyone’s favorite original reluctant vampire. I’ve been reliving the magic on NetFlix, but I couldn’t possibly fill the void in your heart where Hipster Douchebag Collinwood Haikus, a breakdown of every dark Shadoes novel ever written, and SOME OF THE MOST EPIC BADASSERY IN THE HISTORY OF DAYTIME TELEVISION should go because I’m too busy making derp faces while Naughty Cubone tweaks his nipple.

That’s why I’m glad that The Collinsport Historical Society exists and that it is curated by at least one person awesome enough to make sure that there is never a dearth of Dark Shadows in your life. Thank you, Cousin Barnabas (The Creep) for providing us with this invaluable resource.

Check out The Collinsport Historical Society and Like it, Like it so motherfucking hard, on Facebook.

Later.
